We still have to make a couple of tiny tweaks (adding ISBN number, UPC code, and one or two other details), but... feast your eyes!
When they gave me the first page as a test, my heart skipped a beat. If I had a tail, it would be wagging. I tried to record some video, but I just couldn't hold myself together. The show tonight will be real test of my abilities to channel feelings into music. Everything is as fresh as January 29th, 2016. It's equal parts beauty and heartbreak.
Thank you so much for your faith and support through this whole process.
Benny, we all love you buddy. ❤️
Another step closer!

On Thursday I got the second revision of the layout. Here's where we are:
I created a punch list which should be the last one! It's just little things like "move this comma," "compress this sentence," and "let's add a blank page there..." In other words, we're really down to the minutiae.
We been in touch with a few printers for paper selection and new price quotes.
We will be meeting on the 23rd to (cross your fingers)... finalize everything!
that means... you may get your electronic copies as soon as that day!
I get nervous saying that because there have been so many little surprises. That's why I've always tried to lay things out as steps rather than dates, but at the very least, I will send you the iteration we have then, even if there's one or two small tweaks left!
Related: I took a hiatus from performing my solo concerts back in September so I could focus my energy on this. Although I wanted my "return" concert to be at the potluck/performance/packing party when we get the materials back from the printer, I got an offer to perform at Riverbend Centre in Austin on June 22nd, and I just couldn't refuse it.
We should know at that meeting on the 23rd what the actual printing timeline will look like and I will let you know as soon as I do. That means we can start planning the final steps: packing party and shipping!
This has been a huge learning process for me and has been humbling, to say the least. I have supported other projects that took a long time and I know it can be frustrating, especially when the creator's communication is not completely open. I really appreciate your support and patience, and I hope that you have felt like I'm doing my best not just to produce the book, but to keep you posted with honesty and transparency.
I am always here to answer questions if you have them.
Thank you so much.

One year ago today, we launched the Kickstarter to make Yesterday Was Weird into a book. It's amazing how the time has flown and if you watch the video again, you'll see exactly how little I knew about publishing.
It's taken much longer than I projected, but I've learned a lot along the way and have done my best to keep you posted and share the little victories as they happened.
Latest victory: the team at well done DESIGN (http://well-donedesign.com) has finished their first layout! We'll meet on Monday to polish some of the details - where to put line breaks in the text, whether we need any additional artwork, and what the timeline looks like for finally bringing this whole project out of the ether and into your hands!
I'm very happy with how this edition is turning out, but one thing I've decided is that it will be the only time I print it this way. I will look for a publisher to help from here on.
That's a bridge we'll cross later, but the takeaway is this: your version is going to be unique!
If you know anyone who would still like to order one, they can do it here until we're ready to print:
Thanks again for your patience and support along the way. It has been a healing process for me and I hope it continues to help others for a long time to come.
And the font will be...

It got 198 votes, while option 2 got 106. I feel like the choice is clear enough we can make the call, push that domino, and watch the rest just fall into place! We will make sure the font is clear, the color combinations aren't challenging for the eyes, and the story shines through.
Please share the link with any friends who still might like to order a copy. We're getting soooooo close to the finish line!
Thank you all so much for weighing in, for your continued support, and for helping to make this happen.
